Play Brown Noise with an animated screen
Start quietly because speakers and headphones reproduce low frequencies very differently.
Select Play
Browser audio begins only after your click or tap.
Set low volume
Raise the level gradually instead of starting near the maximum.
Adjust motion
Change how quickly the generated texture drifts until it feels steady enough for the task.
Pause when finished
Stop playback before removing headphones or leaving the tab unattended.
How the low weighted signal differs from white and pink noise
This signal places more energy in lower frequencies, so it often sounds deeper and softer at the top end. Pink noise is more balanced across octaves, while white noise contains equal power per unit of frequency and can sound brighter.
These descriptions explain the signal shape, not a medical effect. Listening preference varies with the person, speaker and room. Compare it with Pink Noise or the brighter White Noise at a similar comfortable level.
Playback is generated instead of streamed
The sound is produced with browser audio after you press Play. There is no prerecorded track to reach an ending and no account is needed for the controls.
Brown noise should not replace treatment, hearing protection or professional advice. For a silent visual between listening sessions, open Black Screen.
Playback and visual controls
The two sliders affect loudness and visual movement without changing to another noise color. With a reduced-motion setting, the picture stays still while audio remains available.
Play and pause
Starts or suspends the generated audio immediately after a user action.
Volume
Changes the browser audio level from silent to the tool's maximum output.
Motion
Ranges from 1 to 10 and changes the animated background's pace. It does not change the audio.
Fullscreen
Expands the animated brown visual while the audio controls continue to work.
Important: Keep volume comfortable, especially with headphones. Stop if you notice pain, ringing, pressure or discomfort.
Brown Noise questions
Is brown noise the same as white noise?
No. Brown noise is weighted more heavily toward low frequencies, so it usually sounds deeper.
Does the sound loop?
Yes. The browser creates a noise buffer locally and repeats it. No prerecorded audio file is downloaded or streamed.
Will brown noise help me sleep or focus?
Some listeners find steady sound useful, but results vary and this page does not make a medical or performance guarantee.
