Moving color retention exercise

Use the Burn-in Color Wash on a screen
Test first, run only a planned session and compare the same pattern afterward.
Confirm the retained shape
Use the Burn In Test and note which field makes the shape most visible.
Choose a short duration
Begin with five minutes rather than immediately selecting the longest session.
Start the moving wash
Open fullscreen if desired and let the color field change until the timer ends.
Stop and retest
Return to the same gray or color pattern and compare under the same brightness and room light.
What a color wash is intended to do
Changing pixels avoids keeping another fixed shape on the panel. Some people use this kind of motion after temporary retention, but results depend on the display and the underlying cause.
Permanent OLED burn in is uneven pixel aging. A webpage cannot reverse that physical change. Built in panel care features from the manufacturer are more appropriate when the device provides them.
When to stop using the exercise
Stop if the display becomes unusually hot, the pattern is uncomfortable or the suspected area becomes more noticeable. Do not keep repeating long sessions in place of professional service advice.
Use Burn In Test for the before and after comparison. Open Black Screen only for a dark field check, not as a claimed repair method.
Color wash controls
The page provides timing and playback rather than unsupported repair modes.
Duration
Selects a 5, 10 or 20 minute countdown before the wash stops.
Start or stop
Begins the animated color sequence or ends it early.
Time remaining
Shows the current session countdown in minutes and seconds.
Reset
Stops playback and restores the initial five minute setting.
Important: This tool cannot repair permanent burn in. Use manufacturer panel care features and support guidance for the specific display.
Burn-in Color Wash questions
Will this remove OLED burn in?
No repair is guaranteed, and permanent uneven pixel aging cannot be reversed by a webpage.
Why start with five minutes?
A short planned session limits unnecessary display time and gives you an earlier point to compare the result.
Does the wash stop automatically?
Yes. It stops when the selected countdown reaches zero, and you can stop it earlier.
