Run a Screen Test and dead pixel test in a useful order
Clean the panel and use normal viewing conditions before interpreting a mark as a defect.
Prepare the display
Clean it according to the maker's guidance and start with the brightness you normally use.
Open fullscreen
Remove the browser interface so each color reaches the panel edges.
Inspect every field
Look at the center, corners and edges on black, white and each primary color.
Repeat a suspicious point
Return to colors where the mark is easiest to see and compare from the normal viewing position.
What each test color helps reveal
Black can make bright pixels and unwanted LCD light easier to notice. White can reveal dark points, dust and bright field uniformity. Red, green and blue isolate the three primary input channels for a more specific visual comparison.
Auto cycle changes fields every 1.2 seconds. Manual selection is better when you need time to inspect one area or take a reference photo.
Avoid a false diagnosis
A speck of dust, a screen protector bubble, reflections or browser scaling can resemble a pixel fault. Change your viewing angle and confirm whether the mark stays attached to the screen surface.
This page cannot measure color accuracy, response time or contrast. Use the dedicated Black Screen for a longer dark field check and follow the display maker's policy when a defect may qualify for service.
Screen Test controls
The tool keeps the sequence simple so observations are easy to repeat.
Color buttons
Select one test field and keep it visible until another is chosen.
Auto cycle
Advances through all five colors repeatedly and pauses when selected again.
Fullscreen
Expands the active field across the browser display.
Reset
Stops the automatic sequence and returns to the initial black field.
Important: This is an observational test and cannot certify a panel, decide a warranty claim or identify every display fault.
Screen Test questions
Which color should I start with?
Start with black for bright points, then use white and all three primary colors.
How long does Auto cycle show each field?
The current sequence changes approximately every 1.2 seconds.
Can this repair a pixel?
No. It helps you observe the display but does not repair hardware.
