Turn the screen into an online Ring Light

A few small adjustments usually look more natural than maximum brightness.

01

Face the display

Place the screen near eye level and keep it in front of you rather than far to one side.

02

Choose a color temperature

Start with Neutral, then move warmer or cooler to suit the room lighting.

03

Balance output and frame

Raise output gradually and widen the frame until your face is clear without looking washed out.

04

Check the camera preview

Start the optional camera view, confirm the result, then open the light in fullscreen.

Ring light and webcam light are different layouts

This page places a bright frame around a local camera preview, so you can judge the effect while adjusting it. The separate Webcam and Zoom Light fills the whole screen with color and does not request camera access.

A monitor is a soft, flat light source. It can improve a dim call, but it will not match the power, shape or color accuracy of a dedicated photography light.

Keep skin tone and comfort in mind

Warm light can suit a room lit by household lamps, while daylight and cool settings may fit window light. Mixed sources can create uneven color, so dim or reposition competing lights when possible.

Avoid staring at a very bright white screen in a dark room. Lower the output, move the display farther away or use the Black Screen between takes when you want the monitor dark.

Ring Light controls

Each setting changes the light or the private preview immediately.

Light presets

Warm, Neutral and Daylight provide quick 3200K, 4500K and 5600K starting points.

Temperature and output

Temperature ranges from 2700K to 6500K. Output changes the displayed light from 10 to 100 percent.

Frame thickness

Sets the bright border from 28 to 140 pixels around the camera area. Small screens limit its width to keep the preview usable.

Camera, mirror and soft box

Start or stop the local preview, mirror it like a webcam and switch to a broader soft box layout.

Important: Camera access is optional and remains in the browser. Close the preview when finished, and remember that screen light is not color calibrated.

Ring Light questions

Does the camera video leave my device?

No. The preview is displayed locally by the browser and is not recorded or uploaded by this tool.

Which temperature should I use for a video call?

Start near the room's main light. Neutral 4500K is a practical middle point, then adjust by eye in the preview.

Can this replace a real ring light?

It can add useful fill at close range, but it is less powerful and less controlled than dedicated lighting hardware.
