Create a Purple Screen in fullscreen
Purple can shift toward red or blue, so compare it with the surrounding lights before saving it.
Pick a preset
Choose the default purple, a deeper violet or a brighter neon style from the prepared options.
Match the setup
Use a custom HEX when other lights or graphics already have a defined purple value.
Reduce glare
Lower Shade or device brightness if the screen creates a hotspot in a photo or reflects from the desk.
Go fullscreen or export
Hide the browser interface for live use, or download a clean file for later.
Ambient color for a desk or camera
A nearby screen can add purple light to a wall, keyboard or small subject. The effect becomes weaker with distance and competes with normal room lighting, so positioning often matters more than choosing the brightest shade.
A purple screen is not an ultraviolet blacklight. It cannot make UV reactive materials behave like they do under a real ultraviolet source.
Check purple as part of a display test
Purple combines red and blue light, which makes it useful for comparing mixed channel output. It does not replace individual primary color fields when you are investigating a possible pixel issue.
Use the Screen Test for a complete color cycle and the black field for unwanted light or bright pixels.
Purple screen options
Change the hue, compare versions and create a reusable file from the same preview.
Preset palette
Prepared values provide distinct starting points without forcing you to guess a code.
Shade levels
Apply fixed reductions to the chosen purple while keeping the base hue.
Copyable values
Select HEX, RGB or HSL when you need the current value in another application.
Export choices
Use a standard video size, device format, square image or the current screen dimensions.
Important: This browser color is visible light, not ultraviolet radiation. Do not use it for tasks that require a real UV source.
Purple Screen questions
Is #800080 the only purple available?
No. It is the starting value. Presets and the custom picker provide many other purple and violet tones.
Can this act as a blacklight?
No. A purple display cannot reproduce ultraviolet light or its material effects.
Why does the purple look different on my phone?
Displays use different panels, profiles and brightness settings, so the same digital value can appear different.
