Animated command center display
Radar Screen
Show a moving radar sweep over a dim world map with contacts that appear, fade and interact with the scan. Adjust sweep speed, contact count and range, then run the scenario in fullscreen.
- Background
- NASA Visible Earth map
- Contacts
- Moving and fading
- Counters
- Intercepted and Impact
- Range
- 40 to 240 NM labels
Set up the Radar Screen
Balance the sweep and contact count so the display stays readable rather than crowded.
Set the sweep speed
Choose a slower scan for a calm display or a faster pass for a busier scene.
Choose contact density
Increase or reduce the number of visible targets generated around the radar.
Select a range label
Use 40, 80, 120 or 240 nautical miles to match the fictional scenario.
Run fullscreen
Open the radar across the display. Pause the sweep or restart the scenario when needed.
A live scenario rather than a static chart
Contacts have positions and states that change while the sweep rotates. The Intercepted and Impact values update from the simulation instead of being fixed text in the corner.
Restart scenario clears the current counters and regenerates the contact state. Pause sweep stops the scan while preserving the visible scene.
What the radar cannot detect
The page does not use GPS, wireless signals, aircraft feeds, ship data or nearby device sensors. Range values and targets are fictional and intended for visual entertainment.
The dim map comes from NASA Visible Earth imagery. Use the Black Screen tool when a blank command display is needed between scenes, or Hacker Typer for a keyboard driven companion visual.
Radar controls explained
Each setting changes a visible part of the live canvas.
Sweep
Controls the rotation speed of the bright scanning sector.
Contacts
Sets how many simulated signals can appear in the radar area.
Range
Changes the displayed nautical mile label for the fictional scenario.
Restart scenario
Resets Intercepted and Impact values and begins a new contact sequence.
Important: This is not navigation, aviation, marine or weather equipment. Never use it to make real world location or safety decisions.
Radar Screen questions
Are the radar contacts real?
No. They are generated by the page and are not connected to live tracking data.
Why do contacts fade?
The fading mimics the temporary persistence of a radar return after the sweep passes.
What do the counters mean?
They record fictional events in the current simulated scenario and can be reset.
