Set up Zoom lighting on a screen with the Webcam and Zoom Light
Position matters as much as brightness, so set the screen close to the camera direction.
Open on the useful display
Move this page to the monitor that faces you most directly.
Pick a starting preset
Choose Warm room, Video call, Daylight or Cool studio to match the space.
Lower the output first
Begin at a comfortable level, then raise it while checking the camera in your meeting app.
Use fullscreen
Expand the color across the display and return with Escape when the call ends.
Why a second screen works well
A large display spreads light over a wider area than a small lamp or phone. Placing it near the webcam can soften shadows and add catchlight without blocking your meeting controls.
This tool does not show a camera preview because your meeting app already provides one. For a built in local preview and a framed light, use the Ring Light instead.
Match the room before choosing a custom color
A warm preset can blend with household bulbs, while daylight may suit a window lit room. Custom RGB is useful for a creative background or accent, but strongly colored front light can make skin tones look unnatural.
The displayed color and brightness depend on the panel. This is a visual aid, not calibrated studio lighting. Open Black Screen when the unused monitor should emit as little visible light as possible.
Webcam light settings
Preset and manual controls let you move from a natural fill to a deliberate colored effect.
Four presets
Warm room is 3200K, Video call is 4300K, Daylight is 5600K and Cool studio is 6500K.
Temperature
Moves the white light from warm 2700K through neutral tones to cool 6500K.
Output
Changes the visible intensity from 10 to 100 percent without changing device hardware brightness.
Custom RGB
Enables independent red, green and blue values from 0 to 255 for a colored light.
Important: Reduce brightness if the screen causes eye strain or harsh highlights. The output is not measured or calibrated for photography.
Webcam & Zoom Light questions
Does this page use my webcam?
No. It only displays light. Check the result in the camera preview of your own meeting app.
Can I use it on a second monitor?
Yes. Move the browser window to that display, position it near the camera and select Fullscreen.
Why does 4300K look different on two screens?
Panels, color modes, brightness and room light all affect the appearance, so the Kelvin values are practical visual presets rather than calibrated measurements.
