Use the White Noise Screen with optional audio

Set the audio at a low level first, especially when headphones or external speakers are connected.

01

Start the sound

Select Start audio after checking the current speaker or headphone volume.

02

Set a comfortable level

Use the page volume for fine control and the device volume for the overall output.

03

Tune the picture

Change Grain for the size of the static and Contrast for a softer or sharper image.

04

Open fullscreen

Expand the animated signal after both audio and visual settings feel right.

What white noise sounds like

White noise contains equal power per unit of frequency, which gives it a brighter hiss than pink or brown noise. Speaker response and hearing sensitivity affect the sound you actually hear.

This tool generates the signal with browser audio after a user action. It does not stream a recording, access the microphone or analyze sound in the room.

Choose the noise color by listening

White noise emphasizes higher frequencies more than pink and brown noise. Pink often sounds more balanced, while brown places more energy in lower frequencies. None is automatically best for every person or task.

Use the dedicated Pink Noise and Brown Noise pages for their own controls. Open Black Screen when you need silence and a dark field.

Audio and static controls

Sound and image can be adjusted independently. With a reduced-motion setting, the picture stays still while audio remains available.

Start audio

Creates or resumes the white noise signal after the required user interaction.

Volume

Changes the signal gain inside the page without replacing the device volume control.

Grain

Adjusts the scale and density of the moving television static.

Contrast

Changes the difference between light and dark static pixels.

Important: Keep sound at a comfortable level. Stop listening if it causes discomfort, and do not use continuous noise to mask alarms, warnings or important communication.

White Noise questions

Is the noise an uploaded audio file?

No. The signal is generated locally with browser audio.

Does white noise improve sleep or focus?

People respond differently. This tool provides the sound but does not make a medical or performance guarantee.
