Fullscreen light and display field
White Screen

How to use a White Screen
Choose the purpose first, because a comfortable light setting may be too dim for a display check.
Select a preset
Pure White gives the exact #FFFFFF field. The other presets offer softer choices for lighting and tracing.
Set a comfortable level
Use Shade for a quick reduction, then change the device brightness if you need finer physical light control.
Open fullscreen
Click the preview or press F. Keep paper, pens and other objects from pressing against the panel.
Finish or save
Press Escape to return. Choose an image size and download the current shade when you need a reusable background.
Use a bright white screen without misreading the result
For a useful white screen test, clean the surface first. The bright field makes dark pixels, dust and uneven areas easier to notice when you inspect the center, edges and corners from your normal viewing position.
One color cannot identify every panel issue. Continue with a pure black screen and the red, green and blue fields. A mark that appears in the same physical place on every color may need closer inspection.
Use a white screen for light, tracing and small objects
Place the display beside or behind the camera when you need a white screen for light during a call. A screen is less powerful than a lamp, so move it closer before raising brightness to an uncomfortable level.
For tracing, use thin paper and a blunt drawing tool. For product photos, a tablet can light a small reflective object or create a clean white background, although its size and brightness limit larger scenes.
White screen controls explained
Each setting changes either the live field or the image you download.
Presets and Shade
Presets change the base white tone. Shade applies a fixed percentage to that selected value.
Pick and color values
Enter a HEX color or use the picker. HEX, RGB and HSL buttons copy the displayed value.
Compare A/B
View the previous and current shade side by side when a warm white and cool white look close.
Keep awake and Save
Keep awake requests that the screen remain on in fullscreen. Save creates a white screen image locally, ready to use as a plain white screen background.
Important: A bright screen is not a calibrated lamp or medical light. Lower the device brightness if the field feels uncomfortable, and follow the display maker's cleaning instructions.
White Screen questions
Is this pure white?
Yes. Pure White starts at HEX #FFFFFF, or RGB 255, 255, 255. Display settings and room light can still affect its appearance.
Can a white screen confirm a dead pixel?
It can make a dark pixel easier to see, but compare several solid colors before deciding what the mark is.
Will the page change my monitor brightness?
No. Shade changes the color drawn by the browser. Hardware brightness remains under the device controls.
